The Beach dominated both sides of the net during the Long Beach State Invitational

“Eating well” is one of today’s most popular phrases, and the Long Beach State women’s volleyball team did not disappoint by feasting on all of their opponents during this weekend’s LBSU Invitational.

The 49ers swept all three teams they faced (UMBC, Indiana State, and Northeastern) in a very dominating fashion:  kills 123 to 76, hitting percentage .342 to .048, and blocks 23.5 to 14.5. This level of play did not only improve the team’s overall record to 3-2, but also gave their fans plenty to cheer about along the way.

Long Beach State will now be taking their show on the road.  The team will be facing New Orleans, LSU, and Tulane next weekend at the Tulane/Allstate Sugar Bowl Classic. This will be a homing coming for senior All-American Naomi Washington, as she is from the New Orleans area.
