Long Beach State sweeps Cal State Northridge in a must win women’s volleyball match.

The Long Beach State women’s volleyball team entered Saturday night’s contest against the Cal State Northridge Matadors matching their longest losing streak of the season, a two game skid.  The streak may not be a long one, but it could not have come at a more inappropriate time as only two matches separates half the teams in the conference.

In a not so pretty showing the lady 49ers sweep the Matadors 25-12, 27-25, 28-26, before an announced crowd of 1,165 at the Walter Pyramid.

Outside hitter Caitlin Ledoux led the way hitting .370 with 11 kills, as the team hit a very average .263 for the night.

“Last night was pretty embarrassing,“ Ledoux said, referring to last night’s loss against UCI.  “We hate disappointing our coaches.  They put so much time into us and we wanted to show them that we actually care.”

The 49ers will be home next week as they face the alumni team on Friday night and the Cal State Fullerton Titans on Saturday.
