What HoopGurlz had to say: On the Trail – Brandi Henton, a 5-foot-7 combo guard from Modesto, Calif., told ESPN HoopGurlz that she has given her verbal commitment to Long Beach State and first year head coach Jody Wynn.
Henton said she considered several other programs including Boise State, Cal State-Fullerton and Nevada.
A huge Laker and Kobe Bryant fan, she said plans on getting to some games live and she’s always wanted to live in Los Angeles. The coaching staff was also a major factor.
Henton made her official visit in early September and got to meet and play with the team in their open gym.
“It was really good,” Henton said. “I felt like I fit right in.”
