The women’s basketball team from LBSU crushed by UC Davis 70-46.

As much as the Beach fans have enjoyed watching this team play this season, the looks of frustration and disappointment was seen throughout the mid. The good thing is, the Beach women have always bounced back with a very strong effort after this type of performance.

LONG BEACH – In a very similar start to last week’s game at UC Davis, the Long Beach State women’s basketball team fell behind early and was unable to recover, suffering a 70-46 defeat to the Aggies Thursday evening at the Walter Pyramid.

With the loss, the 49ers dropped to 12-15 overall and 8-6 in the Big West, while UCD improved to 18-8, 10-3 BWC.

LBSU outrebounded UC Davis, 42-35, but shot a season-low 25.5 percent from the field. The Beach also committed 28 turnovers, which resulted in 28 points for the Aggies.

Senior Karina Figueroa scored a team-high 11 points, while classmate Ally Wade chipped in 10. Senior Brett Timmons led the 49ers on the boards with a season-best nine rebounds. Sophomore Tipesa Moorer also finished with seven points and eight rebounds.
